The system is designed to be completely self-sufficient and will continue to work without a subscription. Schedules and information on pills will be uploaded to the device and will not need an internet connection to provide its services. However, you will need internet access in order to alert caretakers or other family members through the app.
Early on in designing Pillgram, we made the deliberate decision to not make it “too mechanical.” We understand that mechanical systems fail, so ours relies more on electronics and lighting cues, ensuring that our devices will continue to work.
While the common perception is that a device like this is meant for hospices and healthcare workers, Pillgram is designed to accommodate users of all ages and technological backgrounds.
Pillgram will be available in English, Spanish, French and German. Additional languages will be added in future updates, which can be done online.
We have plans on selling extra rows at $50 MSRP per row and we have discounts in store for our backers. We already have a pill box that we’re happy with. Why should we use Pillgram? Our mission is to take away the complexities and stress of taking medication and being in the dark about what you’re taking, why you’re taking them, and when. Pill boxes mainly only solve the “when” part of the problem. Instead of having a mountain of containers and unidentified pills and wondering if you, or your loved one, took the right medication at the right time, Pillgram not only tracks it for you and your family or caregivers, but it also monitors usage and plugs in critical holes in your, or your loved one’s habits and adherence to taking their medication. We are here to give you peace of mind, and relieve you of the stress of directly managing your pills.
